RubyTrack: every task gets a real update, every day

Task tracking that enforces daily progress on every open item: structured updates with time spent, estimate revisions, and blocker explanations before a status can change. Hosted and supported by Alpine Edge.

Enforced daily updates

No task can move without a structured update, so boards never sit frozen for weeks at a time.

Time & estimate tracking

Time spent and revised estimates are captured on every update, so plans stay honest.

Blocker explanations

Stuck tasks require a documented blocker, surfacing friction to the team automatically instead of hiding it.

Built for small teams

Lightweight enough for a small team to adopt in a day, with none of the ceremony of enterprise trackers.

How teams actually use it

RubyTrack enforces one rule the rest of the tooling leaves optional: a task cannot change status without a real update behind it.

A five-person product team

No standup, because the board answers the question a standup exists to ask. Every task carries yesterday's update, so the lead can see what moved, what did not, and what is quietly stuck without interrupting anyone to find out.

Agency delivery

Client status reports write themselves out of the daily updates already recorded. Estimates that were revised are visible as revisions, which makes the scope conversation a factual one rather than a memory contest.

Distributed teams

When people work across time zones, a written daily update is more useful than a synchronous call nobody agrees on the time for, and it leaves a record that survives the week.

Questions, answered

It takes under a minute per task, and it replaces the standup and the status report that were costing far more. The point is not surveillance. It is that a board where every card is honest about its state is worth reading, and one where cards drift for weeks is not.

Those let a task sit in one column indefinitely with no signal that anything is wrong. RubyTrack will not let a task change status without a real update (time spent, a revised estimate, or a documented blocker), so staleness becomes visible rather than accumulating quietly.

One of three things: time actually spent, a revised estimate for what remains, or a named blocker with an owner. "Still working on it" is not an option, because it is precisely the answer that hides problems.

Yes. RubyTrack can run in your own environment or be hosted by Alpine Edge on EU infrastructure, with a full data export available either way.
